The GIRVAS Content Management System is a free multi-profile content management system with the ability to publish multilingual content with subsequent indexing with open source code. The system was developed by individual entrepreneur Andrey Shestakov from 2021 to 2024, known on the Internet under the pseudonym "Drelagas".
On June 17, 2024, the program was registered in the Register of Computer Programs through the Federal Institute of Industrial Property, and on November 27 of the same year, based on the minutes of the meeting of the expert council on software of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, the GIRVAS CMS software was included in the Register of Russian Software.
First in the Republic of Karelia
GIRVAS became the first free open source content management system developed in the Republic of Karelia. Currently, the system is actively used as a tool for developing websites in the Republic of Karelia by the developer’s enterprise, which is called “Garbalo” (legally, individual entrepreneur A.R. Shestakov).
Technical stuffing
The control system was developed in the PHP programming language version 8.2 without the use of frameworks, therefore it is a “home-written” software that is supported and updated on a regular basis. Of the third-party libraries, only “Parsedown” is used.
It is assumed that GIRVAS will be used in the future by companies that work with large amounts of data (Big Data), therefore, when choosing a DBMS (database management system), preference was given to interaction with PostgreSQL, but in the future it is planned to add support and other DBMS.
