The "Karelian Developer" company is pleased to announce the release of the 0.2.9 "Voitsy" update for its flagship Content Management System (CMS) "GIRVAS". This release is a significant step in the platform"s evolution, including more than 30 changes aimed at improving stability, security, user experience, and expanding tools for webmasters and developers.
Improvement of installation processes and system security
In the 0.2.9 update, we have strengthened the reliability of the system"s initial installation. The installer has been enhanced with an in-depth check of access rights and the physical existence of service directories (cache, locales, logs). This allows diagnosing file system problems already at the deployment stage, preventing critical site failures in the future.
Additionally, the security perimeter at the Apache web server level has been strengthened: new directives have been added to the .htaccess file, imposing strict restrictions on direct access to system files and reducing the risks of unauthorized access.
Development of the communication mechanism: Notification system
The key innovation of the version is the implementation of a module for notifying system events through external services.
- Integration with messengers: A mechanism for sending notifications about system events via social networks and popular messengers has been implemented.
- Critical events monitoring: Special attention has been paid to the functionality of notifying critical events (hacking attempts, successful login to the admin panel). Administrators can now receive instant notifications directly in Telegram and MAX (messenger of the VK ecosystem). Activating this function requires a special token issued by "Karelian Developer" company. For inquiries regarding obtaining it, please contact support@karelian-developer.ru.
Modernization of user interface and user experience
Release 0.2.9 was marked by a comprehensive stylistic revision of all key interface components.
Restyling of primary themes: A deep stylistic revision has been conducted. The design of the system installer, the primary website theme, and the primary admin panel theme has been completely redesigned. They are now executed in a unified, harmonious aesthetic that emphasizes the continuity and modern development direction of CMS "GIRVAS". Graphic elements, Favicons (primary website icons) have been updated, and new storage paths have been set and visual files of primary user avatars and post covers have been updated.
Functional improvements of the interface
- Navigation: "Breadcrumbs" have been added to the full view pages of entries and static pages in the primary theme, improving usability and site navigation.
- Interactive elements:
- The ability to change styles of interactive buttons has been implemented.
- A mechanism for interactive loading of vector icons has been integrated into the client core (JavaScript).
- For the NadvoTE text editor, a function for framing selected text with brackets and quotes has been added, speeding up the writing of code and markup.
Revolution in multimedia work: New "Media Files" section
The most significant changes affected the "Media Files" section in the admin panel. The file management interface has been completely redesigned, moving from a simple list to a functional tile view.
- New interface (UI/UX): The tile view has become more informative and ergonomic. All necessary operations are now available on a single panel: quick preview of the file, metadata editing, and copying the direct link to the file.
- Expansion of supported file types: Previous restrictions have been lifted. The system now supports uploading GIF images and PDF documents, significantly expanding the capabilities of content managers.
- File manager: Full directory navigation has been implemented – users can create folders and "drill down" into them to structure content.
- Metadata and sorting: The ability to assign metadata to files has been added. The sorting system has been improved: files can be ordered both by modification date and alphabetically.
Tools for content and SEO
The update adds powerful tools for automating content strategy and search engine optimization:
- Publication scheduler: The long-awaited mechanism of a publication scheduler for posts has been implemented. Content managers can now prepare materials in advance and set the exact time for their automatic publication.
- SEO for images: The ability to automatically or manually generate an Image Sitemap has been implemented, which promotes better indexing of graphic content by search engines.
- New theme parameter: A new parameter has been added to the settings of the primary website theme – "slogan", allowing more flexible configuration of the project description.
Technical improvements and API
The internal architecture of the CMS has also undergone significant changes aimed at expanding development capabilities and improving fault tolerance.
- API and security:
- API secret key introduced. This key lays the foundation for the future implementation of a mechanism for secure incoming requests from third-party applications and services belonging to the "Karelian Developer" company"s ecosystem.
- An additional mechanism for the API has been added that allows transmitting to the client side (CMS on request) information about the need for a forced page reload after performing certain operations.
- Interactive forms: In the builder of interactive forms created through the admin panel, it is now possible to specify required fields (required) for any field.
- Documentation and localization update: The product information file (README.md) has been updated. Language files for Russian and English localizations have been revised.
Conclusion
The CMS "GIRVAS" 0.2.9 update is a balanced release combining visual modernization, functional enrichment, and deep technical refinement. We invite all users to perform the update to experience the convenience of the new media manager, the reliability of the notification system, and the increased flexibility in content configuration.
