The company "Karelian Developer" and the Petrozavodsk City Public Organization "Petrozavodsk-Tübingen Friendship Society" have signed a cooperation memorandum. The subject of the agreement is the verification and refinement of the German-language localization of the "GIRVAS" content management system.
What this means for the product
In the future, "GIRVAS" will receive a verified German translation — checked and approved by native speakers. This is a qualitatively new level of localization for the system.
Previously, translation was carried out using machine translation tools. Now native speakers will help bring it to perfection: they will check the correctness of wording, consistency of terminology and compliance with the context in which the system is used. The result will be included in the "GIRVAS" language pack as an official supplement.
For users in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and other German-speaking countries, this means that the system interface will become truly "native" — free of machine-like phrasing and inaccuracies.

Format of cooperation
The cooperation is carried out on a voluntary basis within the framework of a non-commercial open-source project.
The Friendship Society acts as the project"s language partner (contributor). The organization does not receive any remuneration or compensation from the developer.
In recognition of the contribution, "Karelian Developer" undertakes to credit the organization as the author of the German-language localization revision. The credit will be placed:
- in the "GIRVAS" system information (in the admin panel and on the project"s official website);
- in the accompanying documentation for the German language pack;
- in the localizations information section on the CMS official website.
Why this matters
Multilingual support is one of the key features of "GIRVAS". The system already supports Russian and English, and site content and settings can be translated into various languages with the ability to be indexed by search engines.
The emergence of a verified German localization is not just "one more language". It is confirmation that "GIRVAS" is ready for international use and that the quality of translation meets the requirements of native speakers.
